Since when did negative self-talk become “cool”?! From memes, to commonly used phrases, it seems like talking negatively about yourself is not only widely accepted, but often times, it’s weird to be confident. I, for one, agree with Demi, “what’s wrong with being confident? (whoa, oh, oh)”.
One of the most difficult habits to break is learning to stop apologizing when I’ve done nothing wrong! For a whole day, try to catch yourself unnecessarily apologizing. You’ll be surprised by how often it happens. This may not seem like a big deal, but over time, this is ingraining a message in your subconscious suggesting that you are in the wrong. Just another small change that can make a huge difference!
Next to your goals and your vision board that you’re now looking at several times a day (hint, hint) write down a couple positive affirmations to repeat to yourself throughout the day. Here are some examples of positive affirmations that I like to use:
“I LOVE myself!”
“I am productive, focused, and confident!”
“Life loves me and I love being here!”
“I attract supportive people into my life!”
Here’s another hint: be sure to say these OUT LOUD and, in the words of Madame Hooch, “with feeling!”
